| |
|
| Q: |
Are the online courses approved by the Florida Board of Nursing? |
| |
|
| A: |
The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) is approved as a provider of nursing continuing education by the Florida Board of Nursing and has been assigned provider number 50-1437. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Will my completed courses be reported to CE Broker? |

Results of completed courses for Florida State licensed nurses are uploaded to CE Broker in the second and fourth weeks of every month. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Should I enter my Florida State license number? |
| |
|
| A. |
Yes, we can only submit completed course results to CE Broker for individuals who provide a valid Florida State license number.
Reminder! Your license number is alphanumeric, be sure to carefully include both the letters and numbers of your license. There should not be any spaces, hyphens or any other characters between the letters and numbers of your license. For example, enter your license number as RN1234567. Entering an incomplete license number will delay and possibly even prevent your results from being reported to CE Broker. |

Please make sure that the billing address of the credit card matches the address that you entered on the registration form. | My Account |
| |
|
| Q: |
What is "My Account?" |
| |
|
| A: |
My Account is an account that is created for you when you register for an online course. From My Account you can keep track of all the courses that you are currently enrolled in or review past courses that you already completed. You can print out certificates, view your grades and test attempts, register for more courses, and even update your profile. |
| |
|
| Q: |
My contact information or other personal details have changed since I registered. Is there a way I can update this? |
| |
|
| A: |
Of course! Simply login to your account and click on "Edit Profile." Make any changes that are necessary and click the "Update" button. Any changes you make will be instantly updated on your account. |
| |
|
| Q: |
How do I access the course(s) in which I'm enrolled from My Account? |
| |
|
| A: |
Courses in which you are currently enrolled will be listed under "Current Activity." Just click on the "Go to Course" link located to the right of each course listed to access the course material and exam. |
| |
|
| Q: |
I was prompted for additional personal information. What is this data needed for? |
| |
|
| A: |
If you are enrolled in either or both of the Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Infection Control and Barrier Precautions courses, you may be prompted to supply your date of birth and social security number. This information is required by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Licensing Division in order to match your state record with completion of these courses. If your date of birth and social security number (if applicable) are not on file, you will be required to submit this information. |
| |
|
| Q: |
How do I print out certificates for courses that I completed previously? |
| |
|
| A: |
Under "CE History" you will find a listing of all the courses that you previously completed. A "Print Certificate" link will appear to the right of each course that you passed. Click on the link and your certificate will appear. Next, select "File" and then "Print" on your Internet browser. |
| |
|
| Q: |
Why don't I see any courses under Current Activity? |
| |
|
| A: |
If there are no courses listed under Current Activity then you are not currently enrolled in a course. You should look under CE History for the status of any course(s) in which you were previously enrolled. |
| |
|
| Q: |
I see the words "Timed Out" next to a course in CE History. What does this mean? |
| |
|
| A: |
All the online courses have a 60 day time limit to complete reading the course material and passing the exam. If you do not complete the course within the designated timeframe, the course will move to CE History and is marked as "Timed Out." If you still need to take the course, you will need to register for the course again. |
| |
|
| Q: |
Can I register for more courses from My Account? |
| |
|
| A: |
It is certainly easier to keep track of all your courses from one account. Just login to your account and click on the "Register for Course(s)" link. |
| |

| Online Course Specifics |
| |
|
| Q: |
What are the system requirements to navigate the online courses? |
| |
|
| A: |
Our courses function best using a Windows compatible PC using: Microsoft Windows XP, Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher and screen resolution set at 1024 x 768. You can download the latest free version of Internet Explorer from the System Requirements link located at the bottom of e-leaRN's home page. If you are using a MAC, unfortunately our online courses are not compatible with the system settings. The solution would be to "borrow" a PC so you can complete the course material and exam. |
| |
|
| Q: |
How do I adjust my screen resolution settings? |
| |
|
| A: |
Adjusting your screen resolution is simple. Just follow these steps:
1. Right click on your desktop 2. Select "Properties" 3. Click on the "Settings" tab 4. Slide the screen resolution bar to 1024 x 768 5. Hit "Apply" (answer "yes" if asked to apply changes) and then click on "Ok" |
| |
|

Do I have to complete the course in one sitting or can I log back in at another time? |
| |
|
| A: |
You may login and out as often as you need to complete the course and exam during the 60 day timeframe. Just go to www.elearnonline.net and click on "Login/My Account." Under Returning Students, enter your username and password. |
| |
|
| Q: |
I don't remember my username or password. How can I retrieve this information? |
| |
|
| A: |
On the login page you will see a link that says "Forgot your username/password?". Click on that link and enter the e-mail address you provided when you registered. Your username and password will be e-mailed to you within minutes. If a considerable amount of time passes and you have not received an e-mail notice, check your bulk or junk mail box. E-mail programs often confuse responses from courses@nysna.org as SPAM. For future correspondence, set your e-mail program to accept mail from courses@nysna.org. | New York State Mandatory Courses |
| |

| Q: |
What are the mandatory courses for New York State and how often do I have to take them? |

For further licensing questions or to determine if you need to take either of these courses, please contact the NYSED, Licensing Division at 518-474-3817 or visit their Web site at www.nysed.gov. |

As a precaution, we keep a record of all the files sent to the NYSED.
This transfer is done for both mail-order and online course participants of the two New York State Mandatory Courses. |
